Haven’t washed your sheets this week? Then you should know the germy truth. Your toilet seat is probably cleaner than your bed.
According to microbiologist Jason Tetro, after just one week your pillow harbors more than 5 million bacteria. And it gets worse. After four weeks your sheets are hiding more than 10 million bacteria.
Dermatologist Alok Vij, MD had more to add. Vij stated that sleeping on sheets that are not regularly
laundered can cause skin rashes, eczema, and asthma.
What does she mean by ‘regularly’.
Well, that depends on the climate and if you share your bed with your pet, but your safest option is to wash those sheets every week.
No time to do your laundry?
Consider sending them to a full-service laundry center, like Amy’s Laundry located in Westminster MD, and let her launder them for you.
Laundry pickup and delivery, or laundry drop off are both great options. Unfortunately, making the bed is still up to you!
